Washing and Care

• Is the pottery microwave safe?

  Yes, your pottery is microwave safe, however the piece may be hot afterwards. Please handle with care.

• Can I wash the pottery in the dishwasher?

  Yes, the pieces I sale are dishwasher safe, however I recommend washing on the top shelf. However some detergents can dull the finish. I recommend hand washing with warm water and mild detergent, with a soft cloth or sponge. Do Not use a abrasive scrubber as these can scratch the service of the piece.

Cooking

• Can I use my pottery in the microwave?

  Yes, your pottery is microwave safe, however the item may be hot afterwards, Please handle with care.

• Can I use my pottery in the oven?

  The pottery is capable of handling both hot and cold temperatures, however it does not do well with moving between one extreme and the other, You risk cracking. To minimize this chance, place the pottery in a cool oven and have it brought up to temperature. Never place the piece in a preheated oven.

General Pottery Questions

• What Clay do you use?

  The clay I use is called T-Mix from Trinity Ceramic. It is a white clay with a smooth porcelain texture. On occasion I will use the house reclaim clay, which is a mixture of T-Mix and Spectacular also from Trinity Ceramic

• What temperature do you fire at?

  My pottery is fired twice, the first fire or Bisque is to cone 04, and the second glaze fire is to cone 6.

• Do you take Commissions?

  No, I’m not currently taking commissions.
